Midnight Fairytale Candle

Good Morning bloggers, it's Saturday morning so It's time for a new challenge today at Allsorts.
This week is our lovely Sarah's turn to host and she would like to see you 'Make A Gift'.
I decided to decorate a candle and make a sturdy gift box for it.  I used a Midnight Fairytale stamp as this candle is for my Mum and she loves Fairies.  I adhered it to a doily and added roses, sequin flowers and pearls.  Lots of sparkle to the wings and butterflies.  The box now that was a little harder, as  I had to make it larger than the usual candle boxes I do, to allow for the flowers and doily round the base of the candle.  I used cereal boxes to do the initial layout of the box, then used stiffer card to line the box to make it sturdy
Here's the candle:-

And a view of the back of the candle and the lid of the box.

Don't forget to head over to Allsorts for all the details of this challenge, and to check out all the fabulous inspiration from my very talented team mates.

Christmas Ornaments

Hello everyone, happy Tuesday to you all. This is a rare post for me as I found a little extra time to have a play this week with some Nicecrane images that I've been given to use by the lovely Ignacio, that's right this is just for fun!  I had a right good old play.I love all the Nicecrane images.  And look how fabulous he has made my photo's look, thank you Ignacio!

Views of both sides

I had this fabulous pyramid style Vintage Christmas Ball image sheet from Nicecrane,

Christmas Ball by Bowyle (Pyramid Style) - Click Image to Close

http://nicecranedesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=46&products_id=1181

Every sheet he has is gorgeous and I just wanted to use this one to do something different. I've used the layers to build up my ball onto gold mirror card and then stickled it.  I added lace, strung pearls for the hanging loop and a satin bud.
And look at the offer he has put on just for you:-  This offer expires on the 20th November 2013

I hope you all have a nice relaxing day, I've got the day to myself, and guess what?  there's a pile of ironing calling me and lots of silly jobs to do, shall I throw caution to the wind and be naughty and have a me day just blogging and crafting or be a good housewife and clean etc....................Mmm decisions, decisions!!!!!

Thanks for popping by.

White Christmas

Good Morning bloggers, it's Saturday morning so It's time for a new challenge today at Allsorts.
This week is our lovely Wendy's turn to host and she would like to see a 'White Christmas', so we want to see mainly white creations this time please.
Here is what I did, I used my favourite Christmas stamp that I get out every year, and decided to add a little colour just to define the detail.  I took a close up of the image hoping you can see the gorgeous sparkle using Glamour dust.  I'm not much cop with a camera.

All the white card is embossed and I have used spellbinders Poinsettia, but again due to my lack of photography it doesn't show very well.  A few gems, ribbon and a Flonz sentiment, and that's about it.

Don't forget to head over to Allsorts for all the details of this challenge, and to check out all the fabulous inspiration from my very talented team mates.

Today's News:-

We are excited to be extending our Family with a new kitten, he is 5 weeks old, so we have to wait another 3 weeks for him.  My friends cat had kittens 4 altogether but 1 didn't survive a girl, so it's 3 boys left.  The one we have chosen has been nicknamed by my friend as Wolfie, so we are thinking of keeping that name for him, although my eldest son prefers Shadow.  At the moment his eyes are a lovely blue but they will probably change, and he has greyish/white flecks running through his fur, but that could change too, and that is why the family called him Wolfie as they though he looked like a little wolf, bit strange seen as he is a feline and not canine.  So here is our new addition:-

Recipe:-
Stamps - Personal Impressions P241, Flonz Sentiment,
Colouring Mediums - Promarkers,
Tools - Spellbinders, Grand Calibur, Embossing folders, Leaf punch,
Embellishments - snowflake brad, ribbon, glamour dust, gems,

Recipe Box

Warning!!! Picture heavy post
It's Monday again, it comes round so quickly. I hope you’re all OK and have had a lovely weekend.
It is time for another theme over on the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge, this time it was our lovely Natascha's turn to choose the theme and she chose "Anything But A Card" - So no cards this time please. As soon as I saw the theme, I thought this is my chance to make a Christmas gift.  When I went to a LOTV workshop to make recipe box, I knew I would make more, and my sister asked me to make her one.  So this is for my sister.  I didn't have a template so took the measurements and design from the one I made then just adjusted the size to suit.  It's all re-inforced so very sturdy, I also made index cards too, leaving some blank for her to add her own catagories.  Now I did think it was a bit plain without Embellishments, and was going to add ribbon and a bow, but then thought if she's taking the lid on and off will ribbon and embellies get in the way. What do you think, should I add anything?
And of course my favourite stamp was used, which may I add my sister said "you will never find a use for that stamp" when I bought it. Ha I did!
Of course you must use a House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffie to join in.
Now to talk you through the pictures:-
