Taking It Easy

Phew that was a busy week, school holidays and now Bobby is 10 years old it's harder to find stuff to do with him.  He's at the age where the things he wants to do cost a fortune or he's too old for other stuff.  We did Yorkshire Wildlife Park and he loved that, we all did.  It was my Daughters 18th Birthday, so there was a lot baking and prep for that.
It's Saturday morning so It's time for a new challenge today at Allsorts.
This week is my turn to host and I would like to see 'The Great Outdoors'
I need a card for my Dad who retires in July, and looking through my stamps thought I could kill two birds with one stone here. So I found this Forever Friends stamp and as it has an outdoor theme and suits a retirement card, it was a no brainer.

Don't forget to head over to Allsorts for all the details of this challenge, and to check out all the fabulous inspiration from my very talented team mates.

Wedding Set

Welcome to my blog this morning, the kids are off school and I don't know where my days are going. So It's time for a new challenge today at Allsorts.  This week is our lovely Wendy's turn to host and she would like to see 'Pearls &/or Gems'
I needed to do a commission, the requirement was a Wedding Set, and what a perfect creation to use pearls on.  I bought a new wedding stamp for this as I really liked the elegance of it, and decided not to use backing papers.  The wedding colour theme is black, gold and white, and I loved using that combo.

Here is the card, the white background card is embossed with elegant swirl embossing folder.

The candle has the happy couple's names and wedding date on the back.

Satin flowers adorn the lid and some pretty cotton lace around the bottom of the box.

And a gift bag to put it all in.

Don't forget to head over to Allsorts for all the details of this challenge, and to check out all the fabulous inspiration from my very talented team mates.

Rosie-D's DT Call

At Rosie-D's challenge blog they are having a DT Call, it ends on Saturday 2nd January so there's still time to apply. All they are asking for is a "New Year " card and a piece of altered art. So I have altered a soap powder tablet box, I have done these before but decided now Christmas is over I needed somewhere to store my Christmas stamped images. I always stamp out a full sheet and this is how I store the left overs. So here it is

Then this is my "New Years" card, I've added lots of stickles to the stars and the party hats.

Now you can apply as well and join in their challenges as they are good.

Hope everyone has a great new year and all the best for 2010.
