A Helping Hand

I needed to really take my mind of things after a weekend with a few family drama's, so I picked a couple of challenges to have a go at. I made some more of these flowers, I love doing them, I use two Poinsettia stamps in different sizes, then ink them with distress inks, and on the large add a daisy punch to the centre. A couple of gems and some stickles and the job's a good 'un.

I have used my favourite of all Whiff Of Joy Stamps, so reminds me of my daughter Jodie, when she's not in a strop and doesn't mind helping me with the dishes Lol!

So here's the challenges I have decided to join in with:-
1. Simon Says Stamp - Coffee & Cream
2. Crafts & Me - Things Wityh Wings
3. Fab 'N' Funky - challenge # 61 - Recipe (1 image, 2 Embellies - flowers and a ticket, 3 papers)
4. Card Makin' Mama's - challenge # 15 - Happy birthday (I have just found this challenge blog)

Lots Of Hearts

This week at Die Cut Dreams we have the theme of "Lots Of Hearts But No Words", and as always the Design Team have come up with gorgeous creations and there's always a fab prize up for grabs. So if you've got hearts pop on over and join in. I decided to use one of my favourite Whiff Of Joy stamps, Melinda blowing kisses.

I thought I would have had more to show you today, as yesterday my Hubby John and all three kids went to Withernsea to see Johns Parents. His Dad has been in hospital and only got out out Saturday, they are doing tests as they have found growths on his Prostate. Well you know what they say "All the best laid plans and all that", They left at 10.30am, so I thought I would hoover round and do some polishing, then I prepared a Sunday Dinner for when they came home. Then my mum rang and asked if I wanted to go to hers for a cuppa. I got back from my mams and looked at my craft desk and then thought I would tackle the ironing first. Then the dogs needed walking and the cat needed groooming. Before I knew it John and the kids were home and I had done no crafting or blogging. Oh well I suppose we have to put crafting off sometimes and put the housework first.

This is also for the following challenges:-
1. A Spoonful Of Sugar - challenge 136 - Valentine
2. Creatalicious - challenge # 18 - Use Ribbon & Love theme
3. 2 Sisters Challenge - challenge 24 - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Recipe:-
Stamps - WOJ Melinda Blowing Kisses,
Papers - Dovecraft Back To basics, Papermania Rose garden,
Colouring Mediums - Distress Inks,
Tools - Nesties, Cuttlebug, Cricut,
Embellishments - Ribbon, gems, stickles, flowers,

Thank you for popping by my blog, I really appreciate it.
Have a good week.

A Reminder

I would like to remind you that the brand new Challenge blog "Oldie But A Goodie" will be going live tomorrow, please pop by and support us. You can blow the dust of some of your old stamps as we only use stamps on our challenge blog that are older than 6 months.

I actually had a good weekend, I got another TH distress ink to add to my collection, thats 11 colours now I have, only 25 more colours to go Lol!

And on Saturday at 5.00 pm we decided to go to Scarborough (only a 1 1/2 hour drive Lol) for a bag of chips at our favourite chippy up one of the back streets. We walked on the beach and the kids collected some shells. It was quite a nice evening not cold, just a bit of a breeze coming in from the sea. Then they had an hour in the arcades, then it was an icecream walking back to the car, then home. It was lovely, it wasn't planned but a moment of impulse kinda thing.

Then sunday was spent getting the kids ready for school and I got an hour or two in crafting, doing some samples for a great new Polkadoodles CD-Rom.

I am having trouble with blogger and commenting, but I am trying to get round you all. I don't know what's wrong with him as for the last couple of weeks it has happened about three times now.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Happy crafting

Something Different

I got an order for a 1st Holy Communion card with a gift box, and I didn't know where to start at first. They asked for white and silver, with a hint of colour. My Sir Stampalot Buddy Pinky
helped me out by sending me some images, and this WOJ fit the bill perfectly, thank you Pinky.
I made a rose and sparkled it up using stickles and a bit of fine silver glitter, there's feathers and beaded stems. I used Distress Inks to colour it and stamp the flourishes, I used Tattered Rose then added some more stickles.

This is for:-
1. Totally Papercrafts - challenge ~ 7 - Things with wings
2. Crafty Cardmakers - challenge # 16 - A female on your card
3. Creative Card Crew - Celebrations
4. Flutterby Wednesday - challenge 100 - Open theme
5. Sophisti-cats - challenge # 25 - flourishes and bling

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and get some lovely gifts tomorrow for Mothers Day

Henry With Cocoa

This is for:-
1.Whiff Of Joy - challenge # 58 - Sparkle, Sparkle, Sparkle
2. Saturday Spotlight - Christmas Music

You might think you've seen this before, well yes you've seen something similar. Someone saw the one I had made and asked me to do one similar for them.
It's for Whiff Of joy and they have the theme of Sparkle, Sparkle, Sparkle. There's plenty on here.
Saturday Spotlight wants you to use Music on your creation, so I've used a sheet of Music as backing paper on my card.

This is just a quick post, my Boys are now feeling much better so I can get on with the preperations for Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all

Another card for an order, I love this mouse Henry, and these are my favourite Christmas papers, but I got them in a sale ages ago and they are discontinued. The ticket sentiment is from Lisa's shop Here . And the flowers have been embossed with gold embossing powder using a flourish stamp.
I'm entering it into Friday Sketchers.

Hot Chocolate, Hot Mouse

1. Papertake Weekly - Sketch
2. Die Cut Dreams - challenge # 25 - Hot Chocolate
3. A Spoonful of Sugar - challenge 9 - Non Traditional Colours
4. Crafty Cardmakers - challenge 9 - Alternative Christmas

I loved making this card, I enjoyed using the Pink and Green a bit of a break away from the traditional colours. I adore this image and added some stickles to give Henry a bit of sparkle.
Papertake Weekly is a great easy sketch, brilliant if your wanting to make some quick Christmas cards.
Die Cut Dreams has the theme "Hot Chocolate", and my Henry Mouse has the marshmallows in his mug too.
A Spoonful of Sugar wants non traditional Christmas colours, so I chose Pink and Green, which also comes in for Crafty Cardmakers.

A Different Colour!

This Gift card is for:-
1. Stampin For The Weekend - challenge 26 - Lilac and Silver + a gift wallet
2. Sophsiti-cats - challenge ~ 13 - Snowflakes and Sparkles
3. A Spoonful Of sugar - challenge 80 - No Traditional Christmas Colours
4. Crafty Cardmakers - challenge # 9 - Non Traditional Colours

I have made this gift wallet for my sister, as she's saving for a laptop and asked me to give her money for Christmas this year. I'm normally a traditional girl when it comes to Christmas colours, so this was a bit slow to get started at first, but once I'd picked the colours it all fell into place.
Stampin For The Weekend gave a colour combo of Lilac and Silver which i've used, the silver is mirror board. It also had to be a gift wallet and tag, my tag is on the inside to give me something to write my message on.
Sophisti-cats theme is snowflakes and sparkles, I've layered and glittered a snowflake on the top corner and put stickles on the cuffs, boots and muff on my Lizzie image.
A Spoonful of sugar asked for non traditional Christmas colours and since I've used Lilac it fits the challenge.
Crafty cardmakers also wants us to use non traditional Christmas colours.

I have been one lucky girly today, I won second prize over at Debbi's in her Promarker giveaway.
Then I also won at Tellen's place for my sexy Santa card. It cheered me up no end after such a rubbish week with my poor boys being poorly.

Happy crafting
