Pretty In Pink

This card is for:-
1. Papertake Weekly - Sketch # 33
2. Die Cut Dreams - challenge # 32 - Bears
3. Just Cute Bears - challenge 1 - "One for the girls"
4. Crafty Cardmakers - challenge 13 - Hearts and Romance
5. Fussy and Fancy - challenge 3 - Hearts

I absolutely adore using this Penny Black Bear, I don't have the stamp, it's retired but a lovely friend Susie, kindly stamped me some out. I've always got my eyes open though to purchase the actual stamp. This is two cards on the trot, that I've used scraps out of my drawer for, I have loads of scraps but forget to look in there when I want something.

Papertake Weekly gave a lovely sketch, they always have the type of sketch you want to use time and time again. Bears are the theme for Die Cut Dreams, and Bitty Angel Bear is the best bear around. And for the new challenge blog Just Cute Bears there first theme is "one for the girls", and my card sure is girlie. It's Hearts and Romance over at Crafty Cardmakers, and I have hearts on my card and the card is for any occassion so it can be used for a romantic occassion. Hearts are Fussy and Fancy's theme this week too.

Hope you all have a great weekend and will be joining me for the BLOG HOP starting on Monday morning, it will be fun and there's so many prizes and a great piece of crafting equipment anybody would love to have.

Make A Wish

You know when you make a card and your just happy about it, everything works out how you've planned it in your head. Well this was one of them cards, I even used scraps only out of my scrap draw. I adore this image given to me by a friend, who would rather I didn't give her name, but thank you x

This card is for:-

1. Create 4 Fun - challenge 26 - sketch

2. Penny Black Saturday - week 85 - Something Sweet

3. Creative Inspirations Wednesday - challenge 45 - Feminine

4. Allsorts - week 36 - Hearts and Flowers

5. Cute Card Thursday - challenge 97 - Blooming Gorgeous

Create 4 Fun have a wonderful sketch, one to use over and over. I have used this cute cheesecake image as the theme over at Penny Black Saturday is "Something Sweet". My card is all pinks which suits Creative Inspirations Wednesday which want to see Feminine. Allsorts has asked for Hearts and Flowers, and they are there on my card. Blooming Gorgeous is the theme for Cute Card Thursday and there's plenty of blooms on my card.

A couple of weeks ago I won the Cupcake Crafts challenge and the prize was $20 voucher for Simon Says Stamp, well this meant I could keep to my New Year Resolution, to build on my small stamp collection. And as Penny Black are my favourites, it had to be Penny Black, although I had bought a set of Penny Black it left me a couple of dollars left so I got a small House Mouse Stamp with the remainder. Don't think this tiny mouse will quite go on a card, so I thought maybe he will make nice Birthday gift tags. So i've taken a photo and then you'll know what you will be seeing probably quite often on my creations.

Have a good evening

I have used a a lovely image called Princess Maggie, and she's one of the Critter Crew over at greeting Farm, only she's not in the shop as of yet, I won her in the weekly digi draw.

I love images with lots of detail, and this image also reminds me of Motivet.

This card is also for:-

A Spoonful Of Sugar - challenge 88 - Freestyle

Incy Wincy Designs - challenge 27 - Ribbon and bows

Creative card Crew - challenge 43 - Punch it

A Spoonful of sugar is letting everyone do what they want by giving the theme of "Freestyle".

Incy Wincy design 's theme is Buttons, Bows, Ribbon and Lace. But it doesn't say if you have to use all 4 items, but I noticed some of the design team only have some, so i'll enter this card and hope it's excepted.

Creative Card crew want you to "Punch It", so this card fits as it has a butterfly and a dragonfly punched on it.

Rosie-D's DT card

This is my reveal for the DT card I have made for Rosie-D's challenge. It is a sketch which is quite versatile and you still have a week to enter. The prize is 4 free images from In Style Stamps. We were given the choice of two images to work with and I chose this Birdhouse. But I added the snow and flourishes myself, and gave it a wintry look, as all we seem to have seen lately is snow.

Have a great weekend

Lions For You

It is my little boys Birthday tomorrow, Bobby will be 4 and pacifically asked me for a card with Lions on as this is his favourite animal. I bought this Digi image from Squigglefly, and what great quality, it is designed by the talented Crissy Armstrong.

I followed the sketch on Create 4 Fun, as it just suited a boys card, definately one to be used again.

Hope you all have a good Sunday, I know we will be.

For my Brother

Good evening, are you all thawing out now, we have had a day of heavy rain and it has melted most of the snow and ice, which makes it easier to get from A to B now. But the temperature still feels like it's freezing.

This card I made for my Son Bobby from his big brother Scott, as it's Bobby's Birthday tomorrow. And he loves to get on his Big Brother's Wii, so it's quite fitting. I'm loving these LOTV images at the moment, this one was a RAK from the lovely Jacqui, thanks love.

I'm going to enter this in the Friday Sketchers challenge, as I have followed there sketch and it was great. Definately one to use again.

Got to go now, just getting the last of the buns out of the oven and they still have to be iced and decorated before I go to bed.

DT Card For A Boy

This is my DT card for Susie's Sassy Challenge # 6 this week, the theme is one I picked myself and it is "A card for a boy with optional extra to add an animal". I chose this theme as my son Bobby will be 4 on Sunday 17th January, and he is obsessed with animals, lions being his favourites. The prize this time is a heart shaped chipboard mini album.

So pop on over and give it a go!

This card is also for:-

1. Creative Inspirations - challenge 24 - Distressing

2. Creative Card Crew - challenge 42 - Distressing

3. Sophisticats - challenge # 17 - Doth the north wind blow

4. Creative Inspirations Wednesday - challenge 43 - "New Year, New Products"

Creative Inspirations and Creative Card Crew both have the theme of distressing this week, and all the edges have been distressed with inks. While Sophsti-cats have a bit of a different theme this time, it is "Doth the north wind blow" and you can interpret it how ever you want. Well being a Northener when the wind blows it blows, and my image looks like the boy has got the wind in his hair whilst riding his bike. Creative Inspiration wednesday has asked for "A new year, new products" and this image is new, sent to me in a Rak from Jacqui, thanks love.

Now how are you all doing with your "New Years Resolutions"? I'm trying to stick to my craft one, which as some of you know I don't own a lot of stamps, and have in the past relied on what I have won in candies and prizes and Raks. Money is tight so don't get the chance to buy many but my resolution was to build on my stamps and to get a decent assortment. My favourites are Penny Black, Sarah Kay and Lili Of The Valley (designer ones). Well New Years Eve My hubby treated me to a retired Penny Black stamp called "Sharing Moments". I had the image sent to me by a lovely friend, and used it not long ago and really enjoyed using it. I really wanted it and saw it on the internet after hours of looking. And It arrived this morning, I got so excited, i was like a big kid. So here it is:-

I would like to finish this rather long post with an apology to all my blogging Buddies, I have been a bad blogger and been working on DT cards, my sons Birthday cards and sorting things for his birthday on Sunday. So I haven't been able to get round to everyones blogs, I'm so sorry but will be back on track very soon.

Snowy Days

This is what greeted us yesterday morning when we got up, and it looks no different today. 6-7 inches of beautiful snow. Yesterday morning I phoned the two eldest kids high school and they informed me it was open and even though I wanted to keep them home they wanted to go see there friends as it was there first day back after the Christmas holidays. So off they trudged in the freezing cold to get the school bus, only to get a phone call 1/2 hour later to say the school bus hadn't shown up. So I made them come back home. I phoned the school up and they told me all school buses in Leeds had been taken off. "Well why didn't you tell me when I phoned earlier" "you didn't ask was the smart reply, but now we are sending everyone home". But my youngest's school did the right thing and sent texts out and announced it on the radio.
So as soon as the kids were home they got changed out of uniforms, my daughter curled up in her bedroom watching chick flicks with a bovril and my two boys got wrapped up to have some snowy fun with the dogs who equally love the snow.

Bobby threatening me with a snowball

Scott always has to go one further with the size of his snowball

Rebel and Flint

The boys throwing snowballs for the dogs to chase, they always try to catch them only to have them crumble in there mouths.

After 1/2 hour playing in the snow they came in soaking wet, but there waiting for them were warm towels and hot cups of bovril all round, apart from the dogs, no bovril but they did get the warm towel treatment, it's a right job melting the snow and ice of their fur.
Anyway today both school closures were announced on the radio, so left the two eldest in bed to have a lay in. Less arguments that way too as they fight like cat and dog.

Hope you all keep safe and warm and I hope I haven't bored you too much.

Ooooops!!!!

This card is for:-
1. Just Magnolia - week 38 - sketch
2. Roses On Paper - challenge 28 - use favourite colour medium
3. Creative InspirationsWednesday - challenge 41 - Thank you
4. Fussy and Fancy Friday - challenge 1 - "new"
5. Stamp Something - New Somethings

I love how this card has turned out, I've made it for my kids to give it to my Mum as she took all three of them to her house and spent the morning baking buns and scones, last Sunday. I'll put some choccies with this card to say thank you as the kids had lots of fun. I bake and cook with them but I think they enjoy the change sometimes.
I don't hardly have any fabric flowers or not many flower punches, so i'm always looking for new ways to do flowers and I thought I've done alot of handmade roses, so this is what I've come up with. I punched my flowers and cut some hearts on the Cricut, inked the edges, then using Versafine, stamped the hearts and flowers with a detailed flourish stamp. Then heat embossed them with gold powder. They may not be everybody's taste but I love how they've turned out. I also used 3D gloss on her shoes the end of the wooden spoon and the broken egg, but it doesn't show on the photo.

Just Magnolia gave us a great sketch to use, whilst Roses on Paper asked us to colour in our favourite mediums, and mine is Distress Inks and H20's. Creative Inspiration Wednesday has the theme of "Thank you" so this is my Thank you card to my Mum. Both Fussy & Fancy Friday and Stamp Something have the theme of "New" which includes using new products, well everything has ben cut using my new Purple Cow paper trimmer and guillotine combined that my lovely Hubby bought me. Also the image I've never used before and it was won as a prize at Die Cut Dreams for a Card I made, these flowers are a new idea too so that might count aswell.

Hope every one copes with the bad weather and the cold
Keep safe

Bright and Sunny!

This card is for:-

1. Papertake Weekly - sketch 31 - sketch

2. Colour Create - challenge 35 - Lemon and Lime + spring or summer flowers

3. Stampin' For The Weekend - "new Beginnings"

4. By The Cute And Girly - "new"

5. Cupcake Crafts - challenge 72 - "baby card"

6. Incy Wincy Designs - challenge 24 - Bling it up

Happy New Year, hope everyone had a good one. Have you all made New Year Resolutions, I have. I have decided I have such a small collection of stamps and the fact that some of the images you see me use are swaps, candies, prizes and some RAKs that my stamps need building up. Money is tight here so I'm lucky to get one a month when the hubby gets paid so that is my aim this year. I've already been trawling e-bay but sometimes with the postage it's not really much cheaper. So i'm concentrating on getting myself some stamps as my New Years Resolution. My favourites are Penny Black, Lili Of The Valley (new ranges) and Sarah Kay. I like my stamps to have quite a bit of detail and enjoy painting them with distress inks and H20's

Now onto my card, I really wanted to do Colour Create as the colour combo is so bright and sunny and with the weather we're having it will bring a bit of sunshine into my craft space. They want to see Lemon and Lime with an optional extra of spring or summer flowers. The sketch is from Papertake Weekly and I have rotated mine and instead of matting and layering the sentiment I put it directly on to my DP with embossing power in black sparkle. Stampin' For The Weekend and By The Cute And Girly has the theme of "new beginnings" and my card is a new baby card which is the theme for Cupcake Crafts. And finally Incy Wincy Designs want us to bling it up, so on my card I've used black sparkle embossing powder, stickles to the halo and wings and butterfly, and also gems and pearls.

I hope everyone is keeping warm, i'm dreading tomorrow, I have to face the cold as my three kids go back to school. But on the up side I get 2 1/2 hours to myself while the younget is at Nursery, mind you I nearly always end up ironing or some other house work.

Stay safe in all this ice and snow

Rosie-D's DT Call

At Rosie-D's challenge blog they are having a DT Call, it ends on Saturday 2nd January so there's still time to apply. All they are asking for is a "New Year " card and a piece of altered art. So I have altered a soap powder tablet box, I have done these before but decided now Christmas is over I needed somewhere to store my Christmas stamped images. I always stamp out a full sheet and this is how I store the left overs. So here it is

Then this is my "New Years" card, I've added lots of stickles to the stars and the party hats.

Now you can apply as well and join in their challenges as they are good.

Hope everyone has a great new year and all the best for 2010.

No Rules!

This card is for:-

Crafty Creations - challenge 47 - No Rules

There are no rules over at Crafty Creations this week, so i'm entering this card I have made for a DT Buddies husband who is a Footie Ref.

This is a quick post as I am taking the kids to the Panto tonight to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, It's my youngest son's first time, but he's nearly four so I think he'll sit still and watch it.

Shall I give you a quick laugh before I go, my youngest son was sat with me the other evening watching tele, I was watching Amanda Holden training to be a midwife. There was a very pregnant lady layed on a bed being examined. "Wow look at her fat belly mummy" my 3 year old son said. "I know she has a baby in there, just like when you was a baby, Bobby, in my tummy" I told him. "Aren't you nasty mam, you eat me" his startled reply was.

He thought that I had eaten him when he was a baby and kept him in my tummy, I still laugh when I think of what he said. Hope it gives you a little giggle!

Santa Mouse

This card is for:-

1. Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes

2. Incy Wincy Designs - challenge 22 - Father Christmas

I've gone for a simple look with this card, as the paper is quite busy, and I fancied a change from adding loads of flowers and embellishments. Still had to use stickles though and a ticket. If you like the tickets you can get them Here at Lisa'a shop at a very reasonable price, in fact you'll be shocked at how little she charges. And she's such a lovely lady too, but does like a joke !

Creative Card Crew has a great theme "anything goes" and they are having a DT Call, and you have till the 4th Jan.

Incy Wincy Designs theme is Father Christmas, I hope my little mouse can take part as he is getting dressed up as Santa.

Well I keep saying that this is the last Christmas card i'm making, then I remember somebody else to make one for or I get another order.

I still haven't finished buying presents, I haven't even started to wrap anything yet. And as for my cleaning and shopping, well I'm hoping Santa might have some little helpers he can lend me.

It's for Whiff Of joy and they have the theme of Sparkle, Sparkle, Sparkle. There's plenty on here.
Saturday Spotlight wants you to use Music on your creation, so I've used a sheet of Music as backing paper on my card.

Another Order With Lots Of Sparkle

This card is for:-
1. Stamp Something - Winter Wonderland

I just couldn't get the right photo with today's cards, But in the flesh I really like this one. I've had an order for another two cards and this is one of them. I have recently made three of these cards in these colours trying to make them a bit more masculine, and now I have sold two of them for orders. The image is a Penny Black and is fab, I got it from my friend Brenda and I'm now thinking I really do need to get this stamp.
Stamp Something have the theme of Winter Wonderland and this bear looks like he's walking through a Winter Wonderland to me.
Sophisti-cats have made it easy this week and just give us the theme Xmas Theme.

Lots Of Toys

This card is to be entered in:-
Truly Scrumptious - challenge 22 - sketch + vellum

I have made this card for Bobby's nursery class as they have asked us not to send individual cards to each child, but to send one to the whole class. Then put a contribution into the fund. I used the Truly Scrumptious sketch, and they had an added challenge of using vellum. The lemony colour behind Santa is actually gold vellum with white snowflakes, only the colour hasn't shown too well. I wanted to keep it simple as the toy backing paper is quite busy and bright but ideal for the children.

A little up date about my boys to those of you who ask and send good wishes, Bobby my youngest is much better, just a bit of a cough left now. My Eldest was back to the doctor again yesterday, still no better. They have given him some more anti-biotics to be taken with the ones he's already on and an inhaler to be used when he is short of breath or his chest is hurting. When both courses of anti-biotics have been taken they will see if he's asthmatic.
So I can't see him being back at school before Monday, it's a shame as he's been off 2 weeks now and earlier in the year he slipped on ice broke his foot (metatarsil) and tore a ligament in his foot, and was off for 6 weeks, I've had a letter asking me to explain all the absenses this year from school. I've rang them and asked if they read their files before asking these questions, there short answer was NO!

Oh well we'll get everything right before Christmas hopefully.
Have a nice evening

Frosty The Snowman

This card is for:-
1. Sketch Saturday - sketch # 80
2. A Spoonful Of Sugar - challenge 81 - Monochrome
3. Creative Card Crew - challenge 40 - "Gold or Silver"
4. Cupcake Crafts - challenge 69 - "Christmas Song"
5. Simon Says Stamp - "Let it snow"
6. Papertake Weekly - Red and green must not be seen

This card is for my three year old's best friend at Nursery, Bobby chose which image and papers I had to use, he was quite specific and asked for it to be shiny, and he's quite pleased with the result. Glad I could oblige Lol!

Sketch saturday is a great sketch and is a good one if your looking for something that's quite quick.
A Spoonful Of Sugar's theme is Monochrome, all tones of the same colour. So I used all blues to suit my snowman.
Creative Card crew is to use Gold or Silver and I chose to use silver on my card.
Cupcake Craft Challenge wants a Christmas song and I went with Frosty The Snowman!
Simon Says Stamp Let it Snow was the challenge here and my snowman says it all.
Papertake Weekly says Red and green must not be seen and there isn't even a hint of it here.

This award was given to me by the lovely Pops, click on her name and take a look around her blog as she has some of the most beautiful creations there.
I'm supposed to list 7 things about myself, but i've already done this in a post further down. And I need to pass it on, but what i'd like to do is say if anyone who visits me enjoys your look around please take this award with my love.

Have a good day

A Pink Christmas Set

This is for:-

1. Cute Card Thursday - challenge 89 - "Swirly Girly"

2. Incy Wincy Designs - challenge 21 - "Snowflakes"

3. Simon Says Stamp - So charming

This is an order I got from a friend who has a little girl in Bobby's class at Nursery, she had seen the ones I made Bobby so if they look familiar I have done a set in blue. These Hangers are great to use, I bought them from Die Cut Dreams and they came the next day, Susie has a wonderful service.

Thank you for all the well wishes for my boys, Bobby the youngest has now gone back to Nursery after contracting a 24 hour sickness bug on top of the cough and everything. But he's much better now. But Scott my Eldest lad who was at the doctors over a week ago got worse over the week, and Sunday he was rushed to our nearest medical centre as he was coughing up blood. He has now got a lung infection, so what was the doctor listening to last week when she was supposed to have been listening to his chest and lungs. Westlife, Rhianna maybe?????? It has taken at least 2 weeks for this to have set in , but now the Doctors are covering one anothers backs and saying sometimes it isn't detectable. This is a 14 year old boy who I told the doctor he couldn't even get to the top of ours stairs without having breathing problems. And now when the infection has gone he has to be tested for Asthma cos of scar tissue on his lungs.

And now to top it all off I have Sinusitis, what a bum deal. And then we received bad news this morning, my Husband's good friend who has been suffering with cancer for the last 2 years died at 7 o'clock this morning, my hubby was with him over the weekend but knew his time had come. But still has hit him hard.

Sorry for such a miserable post, hope you all are having a better time than us.

Happy crafting

Hanglar Card and Tag

This card is for:-
1. Creative Inspirations - challenge # 22 - sketch
2. Stampin' For The Weekend - challenge 27 - Red, Green and Gold
3. Stamp Something - Glitzy Somethings
4. Rosie-Dee's - challenge 59 - Red, Green and a bit of Bling
5. Creative Inspiration Wednesdays - challenge 37 - Christmas card and Tag set

I did some more gold embossing on this card around the stamped image and my ticket. It's lovely for Christmas cards, and works so well with vintage.
Creative Inspirations have a fab sketch but in the centre for the image it is a circle but I swapped it for a rectangle, as my image didn't look right in a circle.
Stampin' For The Weekend have a colour combo of Red, Green and Gold, just right for Christmas cards, nice and traditional.
Stamp Something requested us to use something Glitzy, on my card I have glitters on the candle flame, around the fur on his hat. There's also gems and gold embossing.
Rosie-Dee's, this is my first time joining in their challenges and they want a colour combo of Red, Green and a bit of Bling, my card has all of these.
Creative Inspirations wednesdays have the theme of a Christmas card and tag set, so they would match I used the same papers, card and colours on the tag. I also did the gold embossing on the To/From part for the matching of the card.

A little snippet of news, I've been really lucky this week and received my third win this week, yesterday from Stamp Something it was $15 of digital images from Soft Pencil.

This is my Design Team Card for challenge # 3, at Susie's Sassy challenge, the theme this week is "Buttons and Bows". And this week the prize is a GDT spot, the DT cards are great so pop over and have a look.
This card I tried something I've only done once before, I used gold embossing powder and stamped some flourishes on to my red flowers, heated it up and the flowers take on quite a vintage look which is what I wanted. So i was happy with that effect and will use it again.

Allsorts asked for buttons too.
Cupcake Crafts has a colour combo of Red and Green.
