Magical Fairy Invites

The front of the invites, using Whimsy's Maya Making Wishes. Glamour dust was added to the wings and dandelion, it does sparkle beautifully, but isn't showing on the photos as usual.

The invite opens and has a detachable bookmark, by the request of my customer, I used a perforator for the bookmark.

This is the bookmark, made using a Molly Blooms Dandelion stmp, embossed with Sea Foam White embossing powder and Glamour Dust was added for magical sparkle. I added "Make A Wish" sentiment and embossed that too.

This is the inside ready for the party details to be added.

This is all 8 that I was asked to make.

Now if you want to read the next part, I will tell you a little story about the little girl for who these invites are for. When Bobby was 1 1/2 year old we started to go to a Playgroup, where we met a little girl of the same age, called Poppy and her mum Sarah. Now Poppy has some health issues, looks just like the little girl on the front of these invites. She has an illness called Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome, where her organs are enlarged, and some other problems. Now the first time we met, Bobby didn't take a second look and just started to play with her with a ball, she had no balance and could only crawl, but that didn't bother Bobby, he got down on his hands and knees and rolled the ball to her instead. Bobby never even batted an eyelid. Poppy was so sweet and gorgeous, Bobby didn't say anything about any of her problems, but was very careful around her.

And there grew a lovely friendship. They started Nursery together after Poppy's mum got her a place at school, as she is very bright and clever, they moved into reception together. Now Bobby doesn't play with her all the time, but he picks her up when she falls, wipes away her tears when she cries and watches out for her, and won't let anyone upset her.
Poppy won a special place in both our hearts, and Me and her Mum have become quite good friends. Poppy has gone through such a lot of medical treatments and operations and she's so courageous. She's a little treasure.
So when Sarah asked me to make the invites for Poppy's Magical Fairy Party, I couldn't resist, she asked if I could add a Bookmark so they had something to keep.

I would like to enter them for the following challenges:-
1. ABC Challenge - W is for Wish
2. Totally Papercrafts - challenge 70 - Summer
3. Crafty Catz - challenge # 86 - Bookmarks
4. Stamp Something - Something Punched (I have used a corner punch on the insides, Nesties on the front and a perforator for the bookmark)

Thanks for popping by and have a good week.

A Devilish Daughter

I won some images a bit back from Kenny K, and this is the first time I have used them, they are great and my Daughter loves them. It was Jodie's Thirteenth Birthday yesterday, so I used this Devilish Donna image on her Birthday card. She can be a bit devilish herself, she was definately a teenager before her time, and at times can be quite a stroppy one too. But we love them no matter what don't we.

Jodie wanted a BBQ party, and thank heavens yesterday turned out to be a beautiful warm sunny day, a garden full of teenagers and family, plenty of food, alcohol free Bubbly and some rather loud music and a good time had by all. Jodie didn't want a birthday cake, she asked for lots of different cupcakes, so yesterday I was up at 6:00 a.m, and baked and frosted 4 dozen cupcakes. They looked fab with swirly tops and different flavours. I added flakes, mint thins, chocolate orange slices. Jodie had a brilliant day, and I was shattered and can't believe how much food teenagers can get through Lol!

I would like to enter this into some challenges:-

1. Allsorts - week 105 - Things With Wings

2. Kenny K's Krafty Girlz - challenge ~ $7 - Fabulous Florals (my first time entering this challenge)

3. Magical Mondays - Recipe

4. CES Challenges - challenge # 38 - Embossing (Embossed dots behind image in nestie, embossing powder on sentiment, embosseing powder on heart)

5. Ladybug Crafts - challenge # 30 - Make your own embellishments

6. Crafty Cardmakers - challenge # 47 - Love The Lasting Kind (for my Daughters birthday, because I love her)

7. Crafts & Me - challenge # 37 - Punch It Out

8. I Love Promarkers - challenge # 68 - Sparkly Bling (gems in flowers, stickles glitter on wings, embossing sparkle on heart)

9. Bling It On - challenge # 4 - Embossing (Embossed dots behind image in nestie, embossing powder on sentiment, embosseing powder on heart)

Thanks for popping by and having a peep at my blog.

The Wolf

Ok so are you all shaking your fists at your computer screens, has Blogger drove you mad. I haven't been able to blog for days, at first I couldn't even see blog sites and then I gained access to sites but couldn't leave any comments. Then my friend Brenda read a tip today regarding the blogger problems. When you log in if you untick the box that says "keep me signed in" it lets you comment etc. So now i'm trying desperately trying to do my DT commenting and get round all the lovely blogs that I would normally visit from day to day. So if you haven't heard from me in a while this is why and i'm sorry. So now back to blogging.

As it is my Husbands Birthday today, I thought I would show you the card I made for him. There is a reason behind the image, I adore Wolves and have done for years, and my DT friend Sally sent me a coulpe of wolf images stamped for my Birthday in March. For my Hubby's Birthday I said I would buy him another Tattoo, he got two wolves with my name below. You see Wolves mate and partner for life and are very loyal creatures. And often misunderstood for scavengers. What a wonderful thing for him to do, I thought he was going for a Leeds Utd Tattoo Lol! It is still red and there is scabbing and flaking to the skin, so the grey shading and the highlights aren't showing very well, but here it is:-

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:-

1. Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes

2. Crafty Cardmakers - challenge # 46 - Embossing

3. Ladybug Crafts - challenge # 29 - Animals

4. Charisma Cardz - challenge # 21 - Boy Oh Boy

Have a good day and thank you for visiting my blog.

PB Hedgie And A DT Call

I felt like doing a Penny black card today, my Hubby bought me this stamp off of E-bay a couple of weeks ago and I thought today would be a good day to use him, he's just so cute.

I was going to do him for a mans card, but then I looked at some challenges and thought Mmmm gingham & roses, could I make him work with that!

I think I need one of those daylight lamps to try and capture my sparkle more, I have used Glamour dust on my roses, swirls, leaves and grass, but it isn't showing very well.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that over at Penny Black @ Allsorts we are having a DT Call, so if you love Penny Black stamps, join in the challenge and try for the Design Team. A princesses Birthday

The start of a new week and the start of a new challenge over at Die Cut Dreams, and as it was our Bosses (Susie's) Birthday on Saturday, in her honour the theme is "A Princess Birthday". And as Susie adores her Tilda's that is the image I used for this card.

I loved this blue and orange flowered paper and have been waiting to use it, even though it is an unusual colour combo. It is also a bit on the bright side for me, but we all need to do something different sometimes.

This is also for the following challenges:-

2. One Stop Crafts - week 130 - Birthdays

Say It With Flowers

I have picked the challenge this week for Oldie But A Goodie challenge, I chose "Say It With Flowers". And I have put the prize up for this challenge too and below you can see the prize.

Please pop by the challenge blog and see the rest of the teams gorgeous creations, and join in too, as you don't need to just use stand alone flowers like mine, you can also use any images and then add flowers to your cards. But your stamp must be 6 months old and please no digi's.

Hope you have had a lovely bank holiday weekend.
For my card I tried something out of my comfort zone. Now on some shelves above my desk I have a selection of woodmounted stamps that I didn't want to put away in a drawer. And there is one particular Inkadinkado stamp that really catches my eye, and so decided to use it and do something totally different to my norm.

So if you know me, it has to be girls, animals or totally cute. I can get along fine with these. But stand alone flowers, not got a clue. So off to my friend Brenda's blog I went and came away brimming with inspiration. You really need to see her Penny Black Creations, she does the most wonderful floral creations. Although you probably already visit her, I know she has many followers. My stamp actually came from a candy I won from Brenda a long time ago when I first started blogging.

I have surprised myself and although not up to Brenda's standard, i'm quite proud of myself. You can still see a bit of me in it Lol, with feathers, gems and bows. Oooo I did 3-D-ing on the flowers also, not done that before. I enjoyed doing this, so you may see more like this.

I would also like to enter this for the following challenges:-

1. Dream Valley - challenge 6 - Flowers

2. By The Cute & Girly - May challenge - Anything Goes

3. Sweet Stampin' - Try Something New (tried 3-D technique, A stamp that I wouldn't normally use)

4. CES Challenge - challenge # 34 - Inspirational photo (my inspiration came from the colours)
5. Papertake Weekly - Anything goes + optional extra something round (my round items are my gems)
6. Bling It On - challenge 3 - Inspiration photo (I chose flowers)

Did You Guess

Did you join in our game over at Sir Stampalot challenge, and if you did , did you guess which Baby photo belonged to me and which creation was mine?

Did you guess?

Here I am in 1971, Age 2 (photo is a bit marked). And if you don't know what i'm talking about, it was our Birthday at Sir Stampalot on the 1st April and we had a fun game for everyone to play. A photo of each DT member along with a piece of their work which they have selected which they think best depicts their style of crafting was displayed on the challenge blog and you had to place them to each DT member.

If you didn't get a chance to play there is another new challenge starting tomorrow, with great prizes too.

She's So Elegant

Thought I would do a quick post and pop this on, as i'm gonna be going over to my son's school as they are having a wedding party this afternoon and i'm helping out. This was for an order for my sister's boyfriend, he just wanted something elegant and vintage for his Mum who is in her 80's.
A lot of inking involved and I had a go at scrunching the music sheet, then inking and embossing the creases with gold embossing powder, i'm a bit of a neat and tidy crafter so scrunching and ripping don't appear on my blog too often LoL!

I would like to enter this for the following challenges:-
1. Sketch ' N' Stash - challenge 60 - I chose sketch 10 and my new stash is the music sheets.
2. Crafts & Me - Vintage/Distressed
3. Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes + Blog Hop

4. Cute Card Thursday - challenge 162 - choose a sketch

LOTV Wedding

I hope everyone has had a good Easter, we a fabulous day as we spent it at Chester Zoo. Now enough of that, the challenge for this week over at Die Cut Dreams is "WEDDING", I have used LOTV image that I won on Elaine's blog in one of her very generous candies. Do pop over as there is a fab prize up for grabs, and as always the DT have gorgeous creations to inspire you.

Cupcakes And Bunting

When I saw the theme for this week over at Oldie But A Goodie, chosen by our lovely Lisa Jane I had to choose this image. The theme is "Fit For A Queen/Princess", and as the Queens birthday is coming up too. This image and the bunting just screamed out 1977 The Silver Jubilee and street parties to me and that is what my easel card is based on.

The image is embossed and then coloured with Promarkers, my shading is getting a bit better with these now and I have found if the image is embossed, my promarkers don't bleed out of the lines. My images were a RAK from my friend Bx but The Molly Blooms image and Bunting can be found HERE at Sir Stampalot. She is from the Summer 2010 collection and so she's older than 6 months old which is one of our requirements at Oldie But A Goodie, we also don't accept Digis. We are sponsored by Die Cut Dreams this week and Susie always gives good prizes, so pop on over and have a look at the rest of the DT creations and join in the challenge too.

Now if I haven't been by your blog over Friday/Saturday, i'm so sorry but for some reason Blogger had decided to freeze me out of leaving comments. He can be so naughty sometimes, and quite infuriating too.

This also for the following challenges:-
1. Fab 'N' Funky - challenge # 68 - All spotty & Dotty
2. Totally Papercrafts - challenge # 62 - SpringTime
3. Creative Craft Challenge - Embossing (my image is embossed with clear embossing powder)

Easter Hanglar

It's Monday again and that means time for the next challenge at Die Cut Dreams. So, onto the new challenge and we would like to see your creations for Easter.
This is the prize for this week.

I have used a Hanglar image, I got two of this image in a RAK a while ago. I have used both now and would love to get the stamp as she's gorgeous. But I haven't seen the stamp anywhere. I have coloured the image using Promarkers, the papers I have used are scraps from my scrap drawer. Those Daisy flowers are a punch, I have punched two daisies for each flower, then layered them together with a brad, which I then coated with Stickles. In The Pink

Well it's the start of a new week and also the start of the two week school holiday, in fact after totting up, my kids are only at school for eight days this month, due to various bank holidays etc...................................... So if I seem to go missing, i'm either pulling my hair out or being driven round the bend LOL! I asked my 5 year old Bobby, "What would you like to do over the school holidays", his reply was "All I want to do is bake buns and build zoos", so not a very tall order at all. I think I fell lucky there.

This is for the following challenges:-
1. By The Cute & Girly - April challenge - Cute & Girly
2. Dream Valley - challenge 4 - Things With Wings

If you have kids at home for school holidays, hope they don't drive you too mad Lol! Happy crafting

My Show And Tell

This post is really a "Show & Tell" as i'm chuffed wih myself, I have finally managed a technique i've been wanting to do for ages. I was on my dear friends blog, Brenda's of Floral Fantasies, and I was commenting on her scenery and backgrounds, I was saying how I'd love to go to a class and learn all these techniques. The next thing I know Brenda had sent me an e-mail explaining how to do a background with my inks and Aquamarkers.

I printed out the e-mail and had a play with my aquamarkers and inks, made a mess a few times and then did a good one so turned it into a card for someone's order. I used Stormy Skies Distress Inks and I don't have a nice green like Bundles Sage, I only have Peeled Paint which is too dark, so I used the celery Aquamarker. This is one of my first attempts, crap isn't it LOL! But Brenda told me not to throw it away, as she said the beauty about doing this I can add or take colour away with this technique.

But then I managed a really nice one, so I stamped my image on it and painted my image with Distress inks. I was really worried that the backgound would contaminate the colours, but it didn't.

So then this is the finished card, yes it's like one I did during the week but someone saw my other and asked me to make a similar one. What a difference to what I normally do, which is distress around the outside with Distress inks.

Thank you so much Brenda, your e-mail encouraged me to try and have a go.
