Snowy Days

This is what greeted us yesterday morning when we got up, and it looks no different today. 6-7 inches of beautiful snow. Yesterday morning I phoned the two eldest kids high school and they informed me it was open and even though I wanted to keep them home they wanted to go see there friends as it was there first day back after the Christmas holidays. So off they trudged in the freezing cold to get the school bus, only to get a phone call 1/2 hour later to say the school bus hadn't shown up. So I made them come back home. I phoned the school up and they told me all school buses in Leeds had been taken off. "Well why didn't you tell me when I phoned earlier" "you didn't ask was the smart reply, but now we are sending everyone home". But my youngest's school did the right thing and sent texts out and announced it on the radio.
So as soon as the kids were home they got changed out of uniforms, my daughter curled up in her bedroom watching chick flicks with a bovril and my two boys got wrapped up to have some snowy fun with the dogs who equally love the snow.

The boys throwing snowballs for the dogs to chase, they always try to catch them only to have them crumble in there mouths.

After 1/2 hour playing in the snow they came in soaking wet, but there waiting for them were warm towels and hot cups of bovril all round, apart from the dogs, no bovril but they did get the warm towel treatment, it's a right job melting the snow and ice of their fur.
Anyway today both school closures were announced on the radio, so left the two eldest in bed to have a lay in. Less arguments that way too as they fight like cat and dog.

Hope you all keep safe and warm and I hope I haven't bored you too much.
Happy crafting
Tracy x

Wow! Look at all the snow. It looks like everyone is having a blast, including the dogs. We have a few inches of snow here, a lot of wind (3o mph gusts right now) and really cold. It feels cozy looking out it though, doesn't it?

TFS!

hugs,
Chris

Looks like you have more than us Tracy, but figured that from the news. Looks like more is on it's way here though.

Anysia arrived home at lunchtime as she said she was worried about driving home from college in Cambridge if it got worse and confess I was more than a little pleased. She only passed her driving test in November soon after her 17th birthday and is still a pretty cautious driver, but that's not a bad thing.

And school just did a parent mailout to say they would assess the position at 6am tomorrow and post on their web site if they will open or not.

Kepp warm and crafting. How's the birdhouse coming along ?
