An Award

I have been given this award from Fiona over at Lil Daffodil, thank you Fiona for thinking of me.

I am acknowledging the fact by way of this post.

I then have to pass this on to 3-5 bloggers who have less than 3000 followers nd invite them to accept this TAG. I have chosen to pass this on to the following well deserving bloggers who inspire me with their beautiful creations:-

Brenda over at Floral Fantasies
Jules over at Always With A Heart (I enjoy finding the hearts on her creations too)

So ladies you have been TAGGED. Want to participate?

Then create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You should also blog the person's link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award. You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then you inform each blogger that they have been tagged.....I hope you will accept this award....

This Fabulous 'I got Attitude' award was given to me by my very good blogging buddie Debs.

Well, this is always a very very difficult thing for me to do. How to choose just 5.
Well I decided this is going to 5 of my consistent commenters, they comment on every post and up to now I haven't given them an award to thank them. I know there's lots more friends out their to give this award to, but I really wanted to give it to someone who hasn't received an award from me yet. I hope all my commenting friends understand, I would love to give it to you all.

So here are my 5
Pinky

Cheryl

Secondly- Tell 3 things about myself

2. Crafting keeps me sane and helps me through the rough times
3. My crafting dream is to be a House Mouse DT member.

Now, follow this link to finish your steps and claim your coupon

Now for the DT Call

Meeting my Hero!

You may need a cuppa for this post and there's quite a few photo's too.

Bank Holiday Monday didn't turn out quite like we expected, we was supposed to go to the coast for the day and my sister was going to have the dogs for us. She had them the other week when we went to the zoo, but Rebel our sable and white rough collie suffers with seizures, and had a fit and frightened my sister to death.

So after much thought we decided not to go, so how did we fill the day. My husband concentrated on the garden in the morning, while I groomed and trimmed all the animals. First was the Guinea pig, Ash, he needed to have his hair trimmed, this is probably his last trim now as he'll need his fur for the winter months, but he can get ever so tangled if we don't trim it. He is a sheltie and is nearly 5 1/2 years old, their life span is on average 5/6 years, so he is doing well. A bit on the thin side but is running round and eating well.
Now a couple of weeks ago I was having a browse at House Mouse stamps, I adore them but only own one, the images I have, I have done swaps for or won them on the House Mouse challenge blog. Well I spotted this, it's called Gorgeous Guinea, and I will have to get it with out a doubt, just have to save the pennies for it Lol!
Next the rabbit, Thumper, he's shedding so a brush and nail clipping required.
Baby our cat who is 9 years old and will only let me brush her, she's getting a bit temperamental now, must be her age Lol!

Now for the last and the most time consuming, my boys Rebel and Flint, my gorgeous loving Rough Collies, the fur takes about 30 mins each to brush and trim. But they're good boys and will stand there and let you do it.
So that was my morning taken care of, what now for the afternoon, how about standing in line for over a hour and half for a book signing. My eldest son Scott who is fourteen loves a series of books called the Cherub series, written by Robert Muchamore for teenagers, they are about orphans that become spies. Scott has them all and a new one was launched yesterday, we bought him a limited edition and queued to get it signed by the author, it made Scotts day. Although I did take Scott last year to a talk by this author and he had a book signed and met the author then too.
He is a very nice person and was quite happy to let us take a photo of Scott with him and a photo of Scott stood at his Range Rover. Scott met his Hero!
And yes Bobby got in on the act too, Robert Muchamore was quite taken with Bobbyand his toy animals and spent more time talking to Bobby than Scott Oh Dear!
So that was my day and no crafting, but must get on today and do some DT samples for a new Polkadoodles CD-Rom, and try to get around blogland and catch up.

I must say though I am having problems leaving comments, Blogger seems to be really playing up and won't let me leave comments on a lot of blogs. So I have been looking at all your fab creations but can't always leave a comment at the moment, sorry!
Have a great day

Something different

A bit of a different make for you today, My eldest son had a mate to sleep over last night and did they mess about. To say they are both almost 15 in age, it was like having Bobby and a group of four year olds. It was 4.30am before I got any sleep, everytime they thought we were asleep they would sneak downstairs, raid the cupboards, put music on, and lots more. This went on till about 4.15am this morning. Banging about, up and down stairs, until they had everyone in the house up including Bobby. By hell they got the length of my tongue, I was so angry. No more sleepovers in my house, they are banned.
So I was up at 6.30 to see the hubby of to work, then Bobby was up at 7.00 am, so I cracked on with the ironing and some other bits of housework. Then got the urge to bake and it passed an hour.

Here are some of the dozen scones I baked, just plain this morning as the kids don't like them with fruit in. I think they turned out nice and fluffy due to me taking my anger out on the scone dough rather than Scott Lol!

Then I decided to do the kids favourite Flapjack, I know by the time I go to bed tonight and John and the kids have had flapjack for supper there will not be a crumb left.

So today I am gonna concentrate on DT work, and try to get round some of your lovely blogs, ladies.
Have a good day

Snowy Days

This is what greeted us yesterday morning when we got up, and it looks no different today. 6-7 inches of beautiful snow. Yesterday morning I phoned the two eldest kids high school and they informed me it was open and even though I wanted to keep them home they wanted to go see there friends as it was there first day back after the Christmas holidays. So off they trudged in the freezing cold to get the school bus, only to get a phone call 1/2 hour later to say the school bus hadn't shown up. So I made them come back home. I phoned the school up and they told me all school buses in Leeds had been taken off. "Well why didn't you tell me when I phoned earlier" "you didn't ask was the smart reply, but now we are sending everyone home". But my youngest's school did the right thing and sent texts out and announced it on the radio.
So as soon as the kids were home they got changed out of uniforms, my daughter curled up in her bedroom watching chick flicks with a bovril and my two boys got wrapped up to have some snowy fun with the dogs who equally love the snow.

Bobby threatening me with a snowball

Scott always has to go one further with the size of his snowball

Rebel and Flint

Rebel

The boys throwing snowballs for the dogs to chase, they always try to catch them only to have them crumble in there mouths.

After 1/2 hour playing in the snow they came in soaking wet, but there waiting for them were warm towels and hot cups of bovril all round, apart from the dogs, no bovril but they did get the warm towel treatment, it's a right job melting the snow and ice of their fur.
Anyway today both school closures were announced on the radio, so left the two eldest in bed to have a lay in. Less arguments that way too as they fight like cat and dog.

Hope you all keep safe and warm and I hope I haven't bored you too much.

An Award

I've received this lovely award from Jacky. Thank you so much, I enjoy coming to your blog and seeing your lovely creations Jacky.

So now I need to list 7 things about myself that people might find interesting........not sure how interesting you'll find them!!!

1. I have passed exams and i'm a fully qualified Manicurist, including nail extentions. But couldn't follow through with it as a career as I have a phobia about touching people and people touching me. I only passed my exams as I used my Mam and Sister on the exam.

2. My most wanted craft item that i've been wanting for ages and still haven't got yet is a Cuttlebug. Awwww.....

3. I love the Twilight saga's and enjoyed the films, but the films are no where near as good as the books.

4. As a keen reader I have all the books, and read them, that Josephine Cox has written which is a total of 36, but she has also written under another name and they are thriller books.

5. I have given birth to three children without any pain relief, but i'm petrified of the dentist.

6. When I was a kid I had rough Collie dogs, my husband also had rough collies as a kid too, now that's what I call Spooky!

7. My Mum, Me and my youngest son Bobby all weighed 6lb 13oz at birth, weird! Same weight through three generations.

Told you they'd be a bit dull, not very good at talking about myself. And once I press Publish Post I'll think of something worth tellilng Lol!

Now to pass it on to 5 lovely Ladies:-
In no particular order
Brenda
Fiona
Debby
Kim
Crystal

Looking foward to see what you put ladies.
