It's In The Bag!!!!

Hello everyone, and welcome, it's a new month for Stamping Sensations and Penny black & More @ Allsorts challenges, if you didn't get the chance to join in last month's challenges these could be the ones for you.

At Stamping Sensations this month the theme is 'Autumn Glory', so for my image I did some masking, I stamped a Beatrix Potter image, then stamped it again on a post it note and covered the main image.  I then over stamped it with a Magnolia fence stamp to create a little scene.  After die cutting the labels I inked the edges with distress inks.  The background is a piece of patterened paper, that wasn't very detailed, I used A backgound stamp from The Stampman around the edge  and embossed with embossing powder.

We have sponsorship this Month from Penny Black with the following prize:-

And of course, the Design Team have created some stunners to inspire you. Please do pay them a visit to their individual blogs - it means a lot to know you appreciate their efforts.

Baking Gift Bag

Good Morning bloggers, it's Saturday morning so It's time for a new challenge today at Allsorts.
This week is our lovely Kath's turn to host and she would like to see 'Gingham Style'

It's my Mum's Birthday today so I needed a Gift bag to put some goodies in, she loves Turkish Delight but not the chocolate coated one you can buy, but the Rose flavoured one with the powder on the outside and I know of a stall that sells it but it's quite expensive, so I bought her some and some of her favourite Thorntons chocolates as I have given her money for her birthday to spend on her Holidays next week but wanted her to have something to open.
I thought the image on this went well with what I was putting in it, and I love red Gingham with anything to do with food, baking or to do with the kitchen.

Don't forget to head over to Allsorts for all the details of this challenge, and to check out all the fabulous inspiration from my very talented team mates.

And now onto my second challenge creation for Penny black & More @ Allsorts, where the theme is 'Wings, Real, Fantasy or Fiction', I used my favourite Penny Black stamp Bitty Bear Angel for this.

We have prizes from Penny Black, All Occasion Dies, Sizzix, Kraftyhands   Now isn't that a lot of prizes, definitely worth getting your animal stamps out isn't it!!!!!!

Are you wanting some inspiration, pop on over to the challenge blog and then you can see all the wonderful creations from the rest of the talented team.

So here's more information on my Notebook/Journal:-
My Daughter asked me to make her a Notebook/Journal a while ago, she wanted it to be based on her favourite film 'Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd' I think she'd forgotten she'd asked for it as she looked really surprised when she opened it.  Now to make this I watched the movie so I could incorporate elements from the film, not my kind of film although I did think it would be more gory than it was.  It is actually a bit of a dark love story.

This is what I started with

I covered the front with vintage papers, tearing and using distress inks.

I added a punched border and lace down one side.  Mrs Lovett's dress has black and red lace on the bustle.

Here are all my handmade embellishments, The cogs are cut with dies then stamped with a matching set of stamps, I embossed the edges with my own mixture of powders to make them look old.  The images and posters are printed, I stamped and inked a pocket watch.

This is the inside of the cover, I made a pocket for Jodie to keep loose papers in.

For the heart I cut a red one then over stamped it, covered it with crackle glaze, then cut a scalloped heart.  I used a safety pin with a charm on to add interest to the heart.

For the film strip I stamped it then cut out the squares, I stamped some cogs and pocket watch, coloured them with distress inks and fitted them behind the strip.  I used glossy accents to glaze the whole film strip.

I added charms to some chain and hung them from the spiral, added some flowers and corners.  I think I covered everything, there is details of everything in the recipe below.

Recipe:-
Stamps -432J Bitty Bear Angel, Indigo Blu, Papermania's Chronology, Prickly Pear Steampunk Stamp set (CLR025), Dovecraft film strip,
Papers - Vintage from stash (Don't know the brand), LOTV Always & Forever,
Colouring Mediums - Spectrum Noirs, Distress Inks,

Workshop Box

Hello everyone, I thought I would share my make that I did on Saturday at a Lili Of The Valley workshop.  We made a 'Birthday Planner Box', all the products were supplied, the papers are a new paper pad (see below for details), I had a fabulous day, I sat with my blogging/DT friend Susan, we had a good old natter while we made our boxes.  And some way into the workshop I was presented with a voucher,  my best friend Brenda had arranged for me, what a lovely surprise, thank you so much love, it made my day.

This fabulous paper from Lili Of The Valley is called Heartfelt by Raspberry Road, every sheet is gorgeous so I had to buy one and the other five new p-ads too, I'm totally addicted to LOTV pads, and have nearly all, not quite all but I'm getting there LOL!. The roses are a new way for me as you have the spiral rose sat on die cut flowers, yep love this idea and made one myself on yesterday's card.

Another view:-

I hope you all have a nice relaxing week, it's school holidays so your either chilling with the kids or running round like mad after them.  I'm probably in for a bit of both.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
1. Crafts 4 Eternity - #170 - Anything But A Card
2. Creative Card Crew - #59 - Spring (I've done spring colours)
3. Papertake Weekly - Spring Has Sprung - (I've done spring colours and flowers)
4. Ladybug Crafts - Birthday's (I've done a Birthday Planner Box)

Altered Item

Monday mornings seem to come round so quickly these days. I hope you’re all OK and have had a lovely weekend.
It is time for another theme over on the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge, this time it was our lovely Heather's turn to choose the theme and she chose 'Lost & Found' - eg. Clothing Tag/Bottle Cap/Odd Earring/Cardboard packet/Foil/Empty jar/Container) Anything you could lose or Find.
I found the box below in the back of my cupboard and decided to alter it.

I used Nitwit papers Always & Forever, and House Mouse stamp HMPR1042 Pampered Guinea which is one of my most favourite stamps.  I used dies to embellish my box, and added ribbon to make a pull loop.

I also lined the inside of the box too, there's been  a lot of measuring and a lot of work in this box but so worth it.  I even covered the underneath.

I love altering things, I could sit and do them all day, it's one of my favourite things to do.

Of course you must use a House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffie to join in.
