Gone Fishing Again and New Distressing Tools!

It's week 24 on the Polkadoodles challenge, Now this weeks challenge has been chosen by Dee, the theme this week is Fathers Day/ Male theme. I have used the Not For Girls CD -Rom for my creation, and the image is from the Stampies section. The sentiment is done on the computer. The winner will receive a special blinkie for use on their blog and something scrummy from Polka Doodles! Runners-up will also receive Blinkies!

I have made this for my Dad whose birthday is in 2 weeks time and he's a fisherman so this image is ideal.

Last Friday evening I was getting a little angry with my Distressing tool, everytime I wanted to change my foam pad on it, the velcro kept coming away from the tool. After trying to give it a few sharp words my Hubby asked me what was wrong. I told him what was happening to the tool, he asked if I needed a new one then. I said no, it is with taking the pads on and off. I said I could do with wooden blocks for each colour. Saturday lunch time he came home from work with a strip of wood, and these are what he made me with a strip of wood and some velcro hook. They work great although a little rough looking, but he has said he will get some better wood now he knows they work and will sand and stain some new ones for me so they look better. But guess what I don't care if he doesn't do new ones as I like these and I love the thought he put into these. I have ten colours in distress inks, and hope to get some more eventually as I love using them, he said he'll just make more when I need them. bless him, he can be so thoughtful sometimes.

Have a great weekend
Happy crafting

Hi Tracy,
What a sweet thoughtful guy John is. These blocks are great. William is in the middle of making me a drilled block to hold all my Polychromos Pencils.
Almost forgot about the card. It's a great man card and just right for Father's Day.

Great detail on this one Tracy. I don't remember seeing this image on the CD, will have to go back and have a look now.x

Gorgeous card Tracy and as Nettie said will have to investigate as I remember it being there but it looks so good the way you've done the card that you'd never know it was the same image!
Glad you got your ink tools sorted. Oddly enough I'm about to sort mine as a crafting friend said that she'd put her cut 'n' dry foam on cheap door knobs as recommended by Isa Norris so I've got some sticking to do.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
