A Gift Box

This week at Die Cut Dreams, we have the theme of Anything but a card and this is what I made. The rest of the team have made the most gorgeous items, pop on over and take a look and you may even want to join in. There is always great prizes up for grabs too.

I will tell you how I come to have this plain box to work with. Thomas from DotComGiftShop. asked me if i'd be interested in reviewing some of their Christmas craft products on their excellent blog? It's not just craft items, they supply the most gorgeous gifts, polka dot cake stands, novelty kitchen ware, you must go and have a look.

So to make my creation I used:-
http://www.dotcomgiftshop.com/christmas-sticker-stamps on my tag
http://www.dotcomgiftshop.com/christmas-ribbons-vintage around the rim of my lid
http://www.dotcomgiftshop.com/yuletide-images-s6-paper-boxes to cover, they come as 6 boxes in a nest, and these boxes includes tags which I have also used.

They were amazing products to work with and took Tim Holtz distressing inks so well.

These will be a gift to give my Auntie from my kids as she loves all things vintage, I will put scented oils and tealights into the box in cranberry to go with my red flowers.

This is also for the following challenges:-

1. ABC Christmas - X is for Xmas, optional extra flowers

2. Stamptacular Sunday - challenge # 86 - A Time For Giving (a gift) (hope this counts as I have stamped borders and corners on both items)

3. Crafty Cardmakers spotlight - Containers

4. Magical Monday - challenge 9 - Let it snow (my image has angels and snow on)

Now i'm hoping this week will be better than the weekend, as it was terrible, we was supposed to be going to get a few Chrissy pressies for the kids, when the dreaded Croup hit. Bobby, poor thing has spent two nights steaming in the bathroom, but picking up now. He's so good and knows the routine and gets on with it. Then our Guinea Pig, Ash died on Saturday, there's nothing worse than watching three kids cry their hearts out. Even worse I was battling back the tears so they didn't see. He was 5 1/2 yrs old so lived a full life, as that is an average life expectancy, he was so tame and adorable. Here is Ash with his buddy Thumper the rabbit.

Recipe:-

Stamps - Corner stamp, border stamp, Image a freebie,

Papers - Polkadoodles spotted, music paper from stash,

Colouring Mediums - Distress inks,

Tools -nesties, cuttlebug, Box to decorate,

Embellishments - ribbon, (feels like fabric), lace, flowers, stickles, small topper,

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look.

Happy crafting

Tracy x

Hi Tracy,
This box is in my opinion the best thing you have one. It is stunningly gorgeous. A real vintage feel of class about it.
I'm sorry you had a bad weekend. Hope Bobby gets on a bit and that you get over the loss of your pet.

Hi Tracy,
Firstly, I hope Bobby feels better soon, Poor little lad.
Secondly, sorry to hear about Ash. I know it's a lesson that children have to learn when they have pets, but it's a hard lesson and upsetting, I cried for weeks when my cat died!

I LOVE your vintage box, so very, very pretty.
Lovely image on the lid and the flowers are a perfect embellie. Auntie will adore this.

Love Elaine xx

Tracy these creations are absolutely stunning, what a gorgeous box. So sad to hear about your little pet. I had one of the kids rabbits die on my lap a few years back, I still well up at the thought of it. But in the long run it is good for kids to experience these things, its the circle of life unfortunately. Hugs

Hi Tracy

Absolutely fantastic creations. I love all of them so much .. .. stunning work.

My Sister used to suffer from croop as a child so I know what you (and Bobby) are going through.

Sorry to read about losing a loved pet .. .. the downside of having them isn't it. You just can't help but get attached and they become part of the family.

Love Jules xx
