Butterflies And Blooms

This is my final post for this month showing samples from April's shows for Chocolate Baroque, for my first creation I am using stamp sets Dream Petals and Butterfly Mind.   So I started with a background, using Distress Oxides and stencil brushes gently built colour up in green and blue, I kept it soft and subtle.   On some separate card I stamped out the flowers from the Dream Petals and cut them out.  I always cut out first and colour afterwards as if using water colours the card doesn't cut as crisp when damp.  I coloured with distress inks and when dry used a white gel pen to highlight in the centre of the flowers.  I adhered them to the bottom of the card overlapping them.
I then stamped two butterflies and cut them out, I coloured them the same way and put them on as if fluttering above the flowers. Finally added a sentiment.

For this creation I used the stamp set Life Is Wonderful with a sentiment from Birthday Words.  I started with the background, I used Cadence Metallic Acrylic paints found here,  I sponged them in two different colours all over and left to dry.  Meanwhile I stamped my image twice, and coloured the main one with Aqua pencils, I then cut out parts of the image, the butterfly and the biggest flower then coloured them.  I decoupaged the the cut out pieces.   and adde3d some glitter to the centre of the flowers and the butterfly wings.

I will be back with new posts next month, thank you for looking.

Mystical Weave

This is my second post for this month for my Chocolate Baroque TV Shows, with samples from April's shows.  My first creation is using the Be At Peace stamp, I love this tree as to me it's quite mystical so I went for a purple inky background.  After stamping my tree and colouring it I created some hills in the background and a sun, using posca pens did some blossoms on the ground.  I splashed some water on my ink for interest, which then made it look more like a night sky and the water splashes then looked a bit like stars.

This piece is created using two different stamps - Open Weave and Floral Weave,   So for the base of the card I took the Open Weave stamp and stamped several times to cover the background.  Then using a green and a yellow ink I did splashes all over it for some colour which co-ordinates with the topper I made.  For my topper I did some smooching with green and yellow Oxides then stamped my Floral weave stamp over the top.  This is a simple card but sometimes they make good cards for people who don't like fussy things.

I will be back near the end of the month with another couple of creations, thank you for popping by.

Floral Delights

Hello, hope you are well, I am here today to show you some creations I made for the shows in April for Chocolate Baroque for Create & Craft.  For my first creation I did one of my favourite techniques just using two pencils of different degrees of hardness.  I call it Grey Scale, if that is a proper term or it's just something I made up I have no idea.  First I stamped my image called Life Is Wonderful,  then using pencils I shaded it, it's a subtle effect and quite effective.
I then matted and layered the image using black, grey and white card stock.

For my second card I went with the Gerbera & friends stamp set, using the Dandelion from the set. To start with I did the background using a blending brush and some ink, I faded the ink out into white space.  I stamped my main image, then using a single seed head apparently they are called a 'Pappus' I stamped them floating in the air as if they were carried away by the wind.  I highlighted my flowers and added glitter for some sparkle.  Then all that was left was to matt and layer it.

Recipe:-
Stamps - Chocolate Baroque -
Gerbera & friends  Life Is Wonderful,
Colouring Medium - Distress Oxides,  Versafine clair,  Faber-Castell Aqua Pencils, Charcoal Pencils
Tools - Sino Gel Pens,
Embellishments - Glamour Dust,

Thank you for looking, I will be back middle of the month with more creations for you.
