Cupcakes

This week at Polkadoodles the theme is to follow a sketch and colour your image. I have followed the sketch by using papers from the All Around & Everywhere CD-Rom, and my image is Stamp Doodles Cupcake stand PDSD030, which was coloured with promarkers. I added stickles, gems some ribbon and a ticket sentiment.

Well it's here Christmas Eve, it came really quickly this year I think, I will definately be more organised next year. Just don't know what happened this year as I am a stickler for being organised with things, but i'm all ready now for it.

I hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

And Happy Crafting if you get crafting goodies in your stocking.

Christmas Scene

Front

Inside, the wallet part.

I made this to put scratch cards in for my Dad as a stocking filler, I get him a £5's worth every Christmas, Birthday and Father's day. His real weakness is horses, he's no big gambler but he loves to watch the horse racing and put a couple of little bets on.
To make this I used a scene stamp but I have no idea what brand it is, but it really was gorgeous to colour and use. And although it isn't showing much there is a lot of stickles on my snow.

Well i'm finally all ready for the man in the red suit to come. I have just two more traditions to fulfil and that is to buy my Mum flowers on christmas eve as I have done this since I was about 8 years old, she loves flowers and at Christmas she loves some with red in. Our other tradition is to travel 1/2 hour to a gorgeous village near us called Otley on Christmas eve to a family butcher's shop that sells the best ever Pork Pies. We buy standard pork pies at £5's each, the whole family buy them and me and the hubby get the joyous job of travelling through beautiful scenery to go get them. My Husband has been a wagon driver most of his working life up until the last couple of years and can drive in any weather, so snow doesn't put us off.

This is for the following challenges:-
1. Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
2. Stamp Something - Something with a tag or pocket
3. Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
4. Crafts And Me - challenge # 20 - Anything Goes
5. Creative Craft Challenges - Anything Goes

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year

Have A Hoppy Christmas

Awww you can't see my new technique on this picture so I have done another photo, but the image is blurred because I went too close so you can see the sparkle. A few photo lessons wouldn't go a miss.

This technique I saw here on Dena's blog, and in real life it looks fabulous. You colour your image and then cover the whole thing in versamark. Then cover with irredescent embossing powder (I used holographic but it's the same effect). And it gives your whole image this gorgeous sparkle, saves on stickles etc too. And the great thing is, it won't shed like glitter.

This card and bookmark are for my Daughter's teacher, she loves frogs. I used a Penny Black image from the Holly Day Critters set I got from Sir Stampalot here. On the card I drew the snow and snowballs, stamped the frogs three times and gave them all different coloured santa hats.

This is for the following challenges:-
1. Stamp Something - Christmas Colour Combo
2. The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge - Christmas Something Or An-otter (Bookmark & Card)
3. ABC Christmas - Y is for Yuletide (Red & Green)
4. Fussy And Fancy Friday - week 25 - Anything But A Card (I'm entering the Bookmark)

Thank you for coming by my blog today, hope your all keeping warm

Let It Snow

Thought this might be suitable for the weather forecast we've been given. I have been a bad blogger lately and may not have got around to your blog and if that's the case I am sorry. I have had two children poorly and family matters have got in the way a bit too. I need more hours in a day. Although don't think i'll be going out in the snow they have forecasted, as I spent last night in A&E after kicking the bottom of the wardrobe. The result is a broken toe, ouch !!!!!!!!!

Also Bobby tried to go to school yesterday as he only had a little cough, and school phoned and asked me to pick him up, as his breathing was bad and was constantly coughing. This croup is taking some getting over this time. So kept him at home today and as his cough is no better today definately will be keeping him home tomorrow too.

This is for the following challenge:-

1. Create 4 fun - challenge 47 - Sketch

2. ABC Challenge - I is for Ice and Snow

3. Simon Says Stamp - Let It Snow

4. Crafts and Me - Dreaming of a white christmas + snowflakes

A Gift Box

This week at Die Cut Dreams, we have the theme of Anything but a card and this is what I made. The rest of the team have made the most gorgeous items, pop on over and take a look and you may even want to join in. There is always great prizes up for grabs too.

I will tell you how I come to have this plain box to work with. Thomas from DotComGiftShop. asked me if i'd be interested in reviewing some of their Christmas craft products on their excellent blog? It's not just craft items, they supply the most gorgeous gifts, polka dot cake stands, novelty kitchen ware, you must go and have a look.

So to make my creation I used:-
http://www.dotcomgiftshop.com/christmas-sticker-stamps on my tag
http://www.dotcomgiftshop.com/christmas-ribbons-vintage around the rim of my lid
http://www.dotcomgiftshop.com/yuletide-images-s6-paper-boxes to cover, they come as 6 boxes in a nest, and these boxes includes tags which I have also used.

They were amazing products to work with and took Tim Holtz distressing inks so well.

These will be a gift to give my Auntie from my kids as she loves all things vintage, I will put scented oils and tealights into the box in cranberry to go with my red flowers.

This is also for the following challenges:-

1. ABC Christmas - X is for Xmas, optional extra flowers

2. Stamptacular Sunday - challenge # 86 - A Time For Giving (a gift) (hope this counts as I have stamped borders and corners on both items)

3. Crafty Cardmakers spotlight - Containers

4. Magical Monday - challenge 9 - Let it snow (my image has angels and snow on)

Now i'm hoping this week will be better than the weekend, as it was terrible, we was supposed to be going to get a few Chrissy pressies for the kids, when the dreaded Croup hit. Bobby, poor thing has spent two nights steaming in the bathroom, but picking up now. He's so good and knows the routine and gets on with it. Then our Guinea Pig, Ash died on Saturday, there's nothing worse than watching three kids cry their hearts out. Even worse I was battling back the tears so they didn't see. He was 5 1/2 yrs old so lived a full life, as that is an average life expectancy, he was so tame and adorable. Here is Ash with his buddy Thumper the rabbit.

Recipe:-

Stamps - Corner stamp, border stamp, Image a freebie,

Papers - Polkadoodles spotted, music paper from stash,

Colouring Mediums - Distress inks,

Tools -nesties, cuttlebug, Box to decorate,

Embellishments - ribbon, (feels like fabric), lace, flowers, stickles, small topper,

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look.

Award and a DT Call

This Fabulous 'I got Attitude' award was given to me by my very good blogging buddie Debs.
And with it comes a very wonderful $5 gift certificate from
The Digi's with Attitude Store
I just have to follow a few simple steps .
Firstly- I am to give this award to 5 other bloggers
Well, this is always a very very difficult thing for me to do. How to choose just 5.
Well I decided this is going to 5 of my consistent commenters, they comment on every post and up to now I haven't given them an award to thank them. I know there's lots more friends out their to give this award to, but I really wanted to give it to someone who hasn't received an award from me yet. I hope all my commenting friends understand, I would love to give it to you all.

So here are my 5
Pinky

Cheryl

Secondly- Tell 3 things about myself

1. I live my life around my 3 children and Hubby
2. Crafting keeps me sane and helps me through the rough times
3. My crafting dream is to be a House Mouse DT member.

Now, follow this link to finish your steps and claim your coupon

Christmas Quick

At Polkadoodles this week they are asking for a quick make that can also be mass produced. Everything is from Sundae Of Seasons except the poinsettia's which are from the Crimbo Doodle stamp set. The image is a pre-coloured one from the Disc. And like Jenny requested a quick and simple card.
The winner will receive a special blinkie for use on their blog and something scrummy from Polka Doodles! Runners-up will also receive Blinkies!

I would also like to tell you about a blog hop coming in a couple of weeks for Polkadoodles and there's a prize on every stop. The prizes are fabulous so please do watch for it.

Thanks for popping over and have a great weekend

Magical Mermaid

At "Oldie But A Goodie" this week the theme is chosen by the lovely Fleur, and she has chosen "Distressing". I have distressed all the edges of my cards and papers with distress inks, it doesn't seem to be showing up too well on the photo though.

I decided on an easel card, and all my flowers are handmade. And I just love this image, at the moment it's the only Sweet Pea I own, I would love some of the fairy ones though, oh well they'll go on my wish list.

Easel cards are hard to photograph sometimes so I have done a few shots of the details too.

I've tried to show you on this close up the Rangers Rock Candy I have used on the mermaids tale. In real life it gives a gorgeous shimmer which makes her tail look wet.

We are sponsored by Die Cut Dreams and this is the great prize Susie is giving away.

The rest of the team have done gorgeous creations too, please pop by and have a look and maybe also join in the challenge too.

This is also for the following challenges:-

1. Colour Create - challenge 56 - Purple, Aqua and White

2. Sweet Pea Stampers - Easel card

3. ABC Challenge - G is for Glitter

4. Simon Says Stamp - Punch 'em (I have used punches for my flowers)

5. Creative Card Crew - Let's Punch It ( have punched flowers)

6. Creative Inspirations - challenge 46 - Glitter, Glamour & Girlie
