Blossom & Bees

Welcome to my blog from a very wet Leeds, you can tell when the school holidays come as we seem to get lots of rain.  My son Bobby spent the last couple of weeks in hot classrooms complaining when he came home, now it's raining most days, typical of school holidays.
It's a new month for Stamping Sensations and We Love Chocolate Baroque challenges, if you didn't get the chance to join in last month's challenges these could be the ones for you.

At Stamping Sensations this month the theme is 'Any Celebration' , I've gone with a Birthday Celebration for my card this week, I started by stencilling the background in a subtle pink oxide, I then stamped my image and coloured with Distress Inks.  And that's it really, simple but effective!

We have sponsorship this Month from
and the prize is:-

And of course, the Design Team have created some stunners to inspire you. Please do pay them a visit to their individual blogs - it means a lot to know you appreciate their efforts.

And now onto my second challenge creation for We Love Chocolate Baroque, where the theme is 'Favourite Stamps'  and my favourite from Chocolate Baroque is definitely  Honey Bee, I loved using these stamps for their shows in July so much, I've planted lots of flowers etc for the bees this year, it's great that in the garden centres the plants are labelled now to tell you which insects the plant will attract.
So to create this card I stamped the bees randomly on the background and coloured each one with Spectrum Noir markers, then my topper in the centre I stamped the hive and also coloured with markers too.  Matted and layered with black and yellow to finish.  There is also glitter on for some sparkle.

Our prize:-
Is the winners choice of an A4 Chocolate Baroque stamp set, or stamps to the same value. We will also be on the lookout for our next Featured Designer selected from entries using Chocolate Baroque stamps.
From the lovely

Chocolate Baroque

There will be two Chocolate Baroque shows on The Craft Store on Friday 6th August at 9am and 1pm, one show will feature two excitingly different A4 stamp sets from new artist Fiona Randall and the second some beautiful Christmas stamps and new seasonal sentiments.

Are you wanting some inspiration, pop on over to the challenge blog and then you can see all the wonderful creations from the rest of the talented team.

Seeing what the design team at CB make is always interesting as you often discover stamps you did not know about, your bee hive is a case in point! Your SS card is also beautiful so subtle and gentle. Love them both. It is such a delight to be joining you all as guest designer at CB thank you. x

The weather is exactly the same here Tracy, what I can't understand it that we had no rain forecast and it's not stopped since 6am, as you say typical school holiday weather.

Loving the soft tones of the Poppy card but equally impressed with your use of Honey Bee stamps so can't choose a fav today.

Dare I say we haven't had any rain here!
Love your first card so pretty and elegant. Your second card is just delightful and I thought you had used a bee DP - your stamping and placement is just amazing.

Two gorgeous cards here Tracy! I love the stamp you used on your first and it looks so pretty in pinks and greens and against that subtle stencilled background. Love that little bee design you made for your background on the second card. Vicky x
